Ubisoft and Immutable announce Might & Magic Fates Web3 game
Ubisoft and Immutable announced Might & Magic Fates, an original Web3 strategy card game set in the beloved Might & Magic universe.
Might & Magic Fates will introduce players to fresh mechanics, unique heroes, and iconic creatures while embracing the legacy of strategic mastery that has defined the franchise.
With Might & Magic Fates, players will experience a game that rewards tactical play, allowing them to master strategy through faction-specific mechanics and a diverse roster of legendary creatures and heroes. It’s an interesting bet for Ubisoft, which has had a lot of problems lately but received funding from Tencent recently. Ubisoft was once the most experimental of the big triple-A game companies, and now blockchain is the frontier where Ubisoft is still making bets.
They can build and collect an original deck, assembling and trading from hundreds of collectible cards to craft a battle deck suited to their playstyle. Victory comes from talent and strategy, offering epic rewards as they progress, and as they rise through the ranks, they can stake their claim as one of the greatest strategists in Might & Magic history.
“As one of the most iconic franchises in strategy gaming, Might & Magic has a rich legacy that we’re thrilled to expand upon,” said Nicolas Pouard, vice president of Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab, in a statement. “This game will deliver a deep and rewarding experience for both long-time fans and new players alike, staying true to what has made the series special.”
Immutable, known for its expertise in creating seamless digital experiences, brings Web3 technology to ensure Might & Magic Fates offers an accessible and engaging card game experience.
“Ubisoft’s vision for Might & Magic Fates aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance game ownership and player engagement,” said James Ferguson, CEO of Immutable, in a statement. “We’re excited to bring our expertise to this legendary franchise and help craft a game that fans will love.”
The partnership represents a step forward in delivering a new evolution of strategy gaming. More details,
including gameplay footage and pre-registration opportunities, will be unveiled in the coming months.
Cofounded by James Ferguson, Robbie Ferguson, and Alex Connolly in 2018, Immutable is headquartered in Sydney and backed by industry-leading investors.
